Big BIg BIG thanks to Angel & Majah, Dossiu, Orlin his girlfriend & her sister @ Groovy Sessions for taking care of me around the gig and the period I was stranded over in Sofia, Bulgaria. They made some amazing meals and showed some great hospitality!!
I was meant to go home on Friday (maybe you heard a Volcano erupted??!) but got a bus back on Monday. I completed a 36 hour coach trip going from Bulgaria through Serbia, Hungary, Austria, Germany and Belgium THEN a 6 hour wait at the train station at Brussels Midi (1am -7am - with all the characters the night brings out at places like that) for a 90 min train ride back to the NL first thing in the morning!
Thankfully the coach ride was not so dull as I could chat with a British group, from West Bromwich, who had been doing some Christian work in Bulgaria and also a Bulgarian girl who studied at Loughborough Uni & spoke perfect English with an unbelievably good Kent accent!! However the coach drivers showed 4 cowboy films - dubbed in German with Bulgarian subtitles... BUT they did get us back in one piece - so whatever keeps them happy!!!
Apologies for my no show at Wicked Jazz Sounds in Amsterdam on Sunday. I am chatting with Phil from WJS to organize a new night to come and play!!

Thanks to the promoters for taking us out there and the staff who took really really nice care of us as well. Especially the bosses that picked me up in a white BMW (badass!!), Petya (i hope I got that right) & Joanna (I hope I got that right too) - who put up with my waffling at all hours - with me forgetting that Lancastrian English is not what everyone around the world learns. Alas for all those of you who were going up the wall waiting for the next Diesler CD will have to go over the ceiling too as 'Tracks On The Rocks', the remixes CD Compilation, has been put back til late Feb 09. Reasons mainly due to artwork issues, Pinnacle going bust, and a million other things... all of which add up to another spanner in the works.
We're gearing up to release it the same week as man lands on Mars*.

Yo ho ho! Long time, no message!!!
Well good news is that the date for the debut 7" for Laura Vane And The Vipertones' single 'Steam/Man of Your Word' is confirmed by the powers that be as .... *drum roll*.... the 31st January 2009. Now I just looked at my calendar and that is a Saturday... so I think therefore that it will hit the shops Monday 2nd February 2009!!
This will be a joint release between Social Beats (Holland) and Unique Records (Germany) HOWEVER the usual generic sleeve for a Unique 7" release will altered slightly as you can see Gallery section of this site.

Just thought I'd pop on here and put in a mention to those who care about new bits and what not.
FIrstly, got back from Holland from the 1st recording session with a new group I am part of with Laura Vane whom I have had the pleasure of collaborating many a time with on tunes for 'Diesler' stuff & guys from Dutch groups 'The Jazzinvaders' & 'The Soul Snatchers'.
A successful trip I feel with many songs laid down both vocal & instrumental, original & covers.
The as yet untitled project will centre around modern funk & soul with a 7" slated for the end of 2008 on Social Beats and an LP in early 2009!!
Secondly, the sampler from Tracks On The Rocks hits the streets this month... all leading up to the release of the full compilation next month.

Just a bit of a thanks to Chris @ Easymoods for being a great host to Katie Miller & I in Austria for our excellent gigs in Graz & Vienna. Shout out to Chris' girlfriend, Sisco from France and SimonLeBon (no not the one from Duran Duran) and all the chaps & chapessess that made it a great trip. Cafe Leopold is one of my favourite gigs of the year!!!
Secondly cheers to all at the Hague Jazz Festival in Holland who treated the band like kings (and one queen - Katie... just to be clear). I think we did a decent enough set and if we didn't then cheers for the 500 or so people who didn't clear off. Cheers to DJ Maestro for booking us too.

GIGS - Been drafted in last minute for 2 gigs. 1/ This weekend (8th Dec) in GERMANY @ Club Maki, Jesuitenstrasse 3, 85049 Ingoldstadt on the wheels of steel.
2/With the band, 14th December @ Carling Academy in Liverpool filling in for No Fakin who are supporting some guy called Mark Ronson at this club called Fabric. Nope dunno either. Anyway the No Fakin boys will rock the spot as per usual!
REMIXES COLLECTION - Still thinking of a decent name to call this collection other than "Remixes" or "Remixer". I’ll no doubt settle on a title that is misguiding anyway from the actual point of the compilation. Partially in a post modern way & partially because I am daft. This collection is due to come out in Aprilly (yes - new word) 2008 kinda time.
6IX TOYS - A quick update on this album for the lads who playing in the Diesler Live band I am co-producing. The major chuck of recording is complete but we are at the fun stage of fine tuning, editing, fine tuning some more, recording vocals, fine tuning a little less & mixing. Not sure when in 2008 this will surface but keep eyes peeled... or ears. You know what I mean.

The new 12" is out and about and getting love in all the right places and the 3rd album has just dropped both of which are on my new home of Freestyle Records.
Residency - 3 now on the go. Thanks to all the people that come down and see me DJ in Manchester (with the Roots Before Branches boys!!) & Blackburn (with Stan Lee) as well as the band in Liverpool. Great sessions all round this month!!
Got gigs this week in Reading (DJ) and Budapest, Hungary (Live Band). If your near either come down and have a boogie!!
Finally - The live band is on again at the Jazz Cafe 3rd November and we are trying to ram it out with peeps who like the music - if you and yours which to come down please drop me an e-mail and I will put you on the £5 guestlist. Sort of a pay back for loyality etc etc... Also on that night is Mark De Clive Lowe doing his Free Soul Sessions as well... so you can check us both out. DJs till 2am as well I think...

Bit Of An Update... - 9th Sep, 2007
Well its been a while. Lets get up to date shall we. Thanks for all the people who came to the gigs in Germany the last couple of days... great times. To the peeps at Festinho last week and all who came to the Jazz Cafe to see the live band... a really great night!! Roots Before Branches with Katie Miller & all the guys on Friday 14th Sept in Manchester.
NEW ALBUM - Yes... finally I can officially say that the new album, "The Rhythm Station", is out on 15th October!! There are some preview of bits on the Kudos site (theses guys'll be disturbing the new stuff)... keep checking out the website as the live band are doing some shows around Europe and we have a residency in Liverpool now as well on the 3rd Thursday of the month starting October @ Django's Riff.
NEW 12" - Getting love from Mr Scruff, Pete @ Jelly Jazz, The Unabombers, Dusty @ Jazz & Milk in Munich. Features the tune "When She Was Bad" as well as Restless with MC Testament from Homecut/First Words Leeds original version and a chunky ol' remix by label buddy Lack Of Afro.
AIFF REMIX - Got the 12" back for the AIFF remix Laura Vane & I have done and it is sounding nice... gettin some love from Pete Issac @ Jelly Jazz "Freestyle maestro Diesler takes over the production, and these too are just amazing, especially 'Akwaaba' featuring vocalist Laura Vane." and from the Stereo MCs "Aiff-akwaaba fave cut is a1 -diesler club remix-great gonna play it in set"... it is also out in October. I think.
NEW PODCAST - Oh & it is on the way... just need to get it done innit. Loads of new bits to squeeze in. Thanks to everyone who has been checking it out!!
New Album & 12" sing - 12th Jul, 2007
Finally glad to announce that new material will be working its way out on the shelves & online after what seems to have been a soild 14 months of work, weight gain, late nights, cups of tea & pub quizzes!!
The 3rd Diesler album, entitled "The Rhythm Station", will be out on Freestyle Records in October 2007. It features 11 new songs with the talents of previous Diesler collaberators Laura Vane & Double Yellow as well as new friends Katie Miller, Afrika Fuentes, Testament, Paranormal & Kinny to name but a few.
It will be preceeded by the 12" single featuring 2 songs from the album, "Restless ft. Testament" & "When She Was Bad" as well as a remix of "Restless" by fellow Freestyle artist Lack Of Afro in August 2007. ORDER HERE

THE SOLUTION!! - So there are millions of things to listen to and download legally or hush hush so I thought, sod it, I might as well bellyflop on the rest of the Mp3s in your player with my cunningly entitled... Diesler's Podcast Adventures. This is a monthly (in theory) 30 minute mix of my favorite tunes. A back to back hot mix as Pete Tong would say. Perhaps.
